Off Road Challenge is a racing game released initially for arcade systems in 1997 which was ported to the Nintendo 64 in 1998. The game was developed by Midway Games, and is part of their Off Road series.

Development Edit

The game was initially developed and released for arcade systems during the late-mid 1990s. The game used Midway V Unit hardware as part of its original release. The game was later released for the Nintendo 64 in North America in 1998, and subsequently in the PAL Region. The Nintendo 64 version included more unlockable content.

Gameplay Edit

Off Road Challenge features several levels, mostly offroad, in which the player drives their large truck through several desert, urban, canyon, and other areas. The game allows the players to "Beef Up Your Truck!!" by purchasing new items to upgrade their truck with such as new tires, additions to their tuning system, and power-ups, among several other enhancements. The game sports several different races as well in which players must race against seven different opponents in snare-filled tracks throughout the desert. The object of each race is to avoid the obstacles and try to beat the opposing racers.
